Jamie’s Italian Restaurant in Budapest is the first restaurant in the Central Europe opened by well-known and famous chef Jamie Oliver on Food Revolution Day 2016 which took place on 20th May. Owner of this Hungarian franchise company is one of the top Hungarian gastro companies – Zsidai Gastronomy & Hospitality Group. Restaurant is located at a lucrative place, right in the heart of Buda castle district. It offers 40 recipes created by Jamie Oliver. Meals are prepared from top-quality bio-products from local producers and they have to fulfil the high standards. During the opening day the restaurant accepted more than 200 reservations via BookioPro. After a month of operation, the restaurant has become one of the most popular spots in the city for domestic guests as well as for the tourists.

Attitude

Opening of the first Jamie’s Italian restaurant in the Central Europe was preceded by long and precise preparations. Everything had to be approved by Jamie Oliver and his team in Great Britain. This restaurant placed high requirements on the reservation system, too.

Challenge

Jamie’s Italian Restaurant needed effective restaurant system, which should have been easy, but efficient. Another requirement was the ability to manage high number of reservations during the day (nearly 30% of reservations is online). Moreover, restaurant required effective capacity management and professional solution for placing reservations and walk-ins in the reservation system.

Results

Online reservation system BookioPro was improved and now the new and better version has a new floor planning function – a restaurant can draw table maps on its own. This function is the most popular. There is a time scale on every table showing the current state of the reservations assigned to this table. Jamie’s Italian Restaurant has started to use the WAIT LIST function, too – guests make reservations even for 2017. BookioPro coped with the initial huge number of reservations during the opening day. After one month the restaurant accepted more than 9500 reservations via BookioPro.
